Teachers

Our mixed age (toddlers and preschoolers) room is staffed by our Director/Co-Teacher, Claire Grudt and Co-Teacher, Samantha White.  Our infant room is taught by Tanya Havens.

Hi! My name is Claire Grudt and I am thrilled to be the Director and Co-Teacher in the Mixed Age Room at KidsPark. I grew up in the Mac-Groveland neighborhood and still reside there today. I am a Saint Paulie Girl through and through!

I figured out early on that early childhood education is my passion. I obtained an AAS Degree from Saint Paul College in Child Development Studies and have been in the field of early education since 1998. In that time I have worked in several daycare centers with a range of ages and socio-economic backgrounds. I have been at Kids Park since June of 2008 and I love it here! I love the high level of parent involvement that is present here at Kids Park, as well as it's fulfillment of the mission to have high quality/ low cost daycare; it makes for healthy and happy children and it makes my job an absolute joy! In my spare time I am an avid reader and have been a member of a book club for several years. I love to sing karaoke (badly!) and I’m learning to play the bass guitar (also badly!) I love to just hang out with friends in any of the multitude of coffee shops in my neighborhood.

Hi my name is Tanya Havens, the infant room teacher, here at Kids Park. I am from the great up north, which some would call the Iron Range. I was born and raised in Grand Rapids and have been working with families for over nine years. I have an AA and an AAS in Human Services, and am currently attending Metropolitan State University to obtain by bachelors in Human Services/Family Studies. I moved to the cities area last year and started working in the teaching field as a lead teacher in an infant room. Through my life I have done several hours of volunteer work in many different classrooms of all aged children. I am thrilled to be part of the KidsPark team and look forward to working with you and your children.
