Spring Break: Let's Go Bowling at Midway Pro Bowl April 2

posted Mar 21, 2009 9:52 PM by Unknown user
A HUGE thank-you to all the families who signed up for our bowling fundraiser scheduled for President’s Day. Judging from the fact that over 50 people signed up, it appears bowling is a very popular option for KidsPark families.  The fundraiser was well on its way to being a hugely successful and fun time…until IT happened:  on the day of the event, the owner of Ran-Ham Lanes decided not to show up!  This was after we had conducted numerous conversations and confirmations regarding the day and time and even promising a great turnout. No explanation, no apologies from the owner, no communication with him since then despite numerous attempts.  So, to those of you who came to have a good time and ended up going elsewhere, I certainly do appreciate your flexibility and positive attitude.  You made a frustrating day that much lighter.

Since the original response to the bowling idea was so popular, we have scheduled another event, this time at a different (and more reliable) bowling alley. Here are the details:

When: Thursday, April 2 (during spring break); 10:00am - 1:00pm
Where: Midway Pro Bowl            (www.midwayprobowl.com)
1556 University Ave W
St Paul, MN 55104
(651) 646-1396
(This place has electronic scoring machines that even tell you how fast the ball is going. I’m proud to say that my four-year-old finally broke the 3 mph barrier in the 8th frame!)

How much: $5 per game--and, Midway is giving Kidspark free shoe rental!
So how is this a fundraiser, you ask?  Well, Midway normally charges $3 per game; KidsPark will get the extra $2 per game. Since it is a fund raiser, if you feel further inclined to help, feel free to pay for a few "extra" rounds of bowling- KidsPark would be forever grateful.

We’ll be sending out an evite as we did before. You can RSVP right on the evite or to troy@kidsparkdropin.org.
